🐺 Wolf Moon
Typically in January · Upcoming: January 22, 2027
Meaning
The Wolf Moon asks you to find warmth and companionship in the coldest, darkest stretch of the year. It is a moon of survival instinct, pack loyalty, and quiet inner fire — a reminder that even in scarcity, you are not alone.
Folklore & Origin
Colonial almanacs recorded the name from Algonquian-speaking peoples of the northeastern United States, who noticed wolves howling more frequently outside villages during the hunger and cold of midwinter. Some European traditions call this the Moon after Yule, marking the first full moon of the new year.
A Simple Ritual
Light a candle after dark and name one thing you need from your 'pack' — friends, family, or community — this winter. Write it down and reach out to one person this week instead of waiting for them to notice.
