❄️ Snow Moon
Typically in February · Upcoming: February 21, 2027
Meaning
Named for the heaviest snowfalls of the year in much of the Northern Hemisphere, this moon is about stillness, insulation, and conserving energy until spring. It favors rest, reflection, and protecting what is still fragile in you.
Folklore & Origin
Northeastern Algonquian tribes used this name because February typically brought the deepest snow and the greatest hardship of the winter; some groups also called it the Hunger Moon because hunting became so difficult.
A Simple Ritual
Make a 'snow day' for your spirit: cancel one nonessential commitment this week and spend the freed time resting, journaling, or doing something slow and nourishing.
